Admission Requirements
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (or Wonderlic BST with a cut score of 365 for verbal and 265 for quantitative)
- 19 years of age or older (varies by provincial requirements)
- NACC Technical Literacy Exam with a minimum score of 18/30
- Medical Certificate (Immunization Form)
- Signed Disclaimer for Students in programs involving work with vulnerable sectors
- Clear Police Check or full pardon
- Adequate physical health to meet program requirements
- Good command of the English language (written and verbal)
Program Highlights
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program prepares students to provide compassionate care and assistance to individuals in a variety of healthcare and community settings. PSWs support clients with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, home management, meal preparation, family support, and participation in social and recreational activities.
As frontline caregivers, PSWs develop not only practical skills but also the sensitivity, respect, and professionalism required to promote the comfort, safety, and well-being of their clients. Graduates are trained to provide hands-on support in long-term care facilities, home care environments, retirement homes, supportive housing, group homes, adult day programs, hospitals, and educational facilities.
Program Duration
- 17 weeks Online Tutoring (4 months)
- 4 weeks Clinical Community Placement (1 month)
- 8 weeks Clinical Long-Term Care Facility Placement (2 months)
